I typically wear an extra small so I thought the small would work well, but it fit so tightly I was afraid it would cut off circulation. The medium is perfect; very snug, as a rash guard should be.
Otherwise, this is a great shirt. I have lupus and must stay covered in the sun- I swim laps in this shirt several times a week and it's still going strong. I might even order it in a different color next year.

I bought this in preparation for a trip to Hawaii and found it indispensable. I was able to snorkel at mid-day and not worry about burn on my back as the fabric of this rash guard was much more sun (and water resistant) than the sunscreen I use. It had the added benefit that when I came out of the water I didn't feel chilled by the wind on my wet skin. It was also surprisingly comfortable to wear.
I ordered it in XL because I typically wear a size 12 and that was recommended by the size chart, but I probably should have ordered the Large because I am smaller waisted and it kept floating up from my waist. It also wasn't tight on my shoulders so I am sure a size down would have worked. I ended up tucking the bottom of the rash guard into my bikini bottoms so that it wouldn't float up and leave me with a burn on my lower back.

It is very high quality. I am 5ft 7 inches and weigh 134 lbs. I ordered a XL and it fits perfect in length and sleeves. It came in the mail within 4 days.
